Our company attended the environment exhibition “IGEM2011” during Sept. 7~10, 2011 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Number of visitors: 68,105
Number of exhibitors: 353companies
The famous PETRONAS Twin Towers is next to the exhibition hall! It had been the highest building in the world until the construction of Taipei 101 was completed. As twin towers, it still remains No. 1 in the world, though.
Same as the IGEM exhibiton last year, our booth was also hosted by Jetro this time. Our booth was located on the corner facing the passway so luckily we had many visitors including the king of Perlis Indera Kayangan and Mr. Datuk Peter Chin Fah Kui, Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water in Malaysia.
At the business matching section, we had many appointments, especially on the first day we got 7. Most of them are from Indonesia and we look forward to tapping into this market after being told that there has been no oil-converting plant yet in Indonesia.
Three staff from our group company in Singapore joined us so we were well-prepared to serve many customers at the same time.
One of our clients who is in the plastic-reprocessing business and came to see our plant in June in Japan also visited our booth. He even brought some of his friends in the same business field here. To meet every customer’s needs, we would try our best to test as much different raw materials as we could.
They treated us with a big meal. The typical Malaysian dish “Fish Saute with cilantro and chili sauce” was terrific.
We chose the time when visitors were fewer to visit other booths. There were several companies dealing with plastics and we took advantage of this chance to do some promotion of the reprocessed resin – the core business of CFP (our parent company).
This is the first time for the staff from Singapore to attend an exhibition. During the 4-day exhibition, we were glad to have many chances to let many people, including private companies, government officials and research association, to know more about our technology.
